Dr. OC Appliance Repair is seeking a reliable Appliance Service Technician to respond to customer calls for household appliance repair and installation needs. You must have knowledge of household appliances such as: refrigeration, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher, including cable installation procedures and warranties. Our ideal candidate has vast appliance repair experience, follows all industry safety requirements, and the ability to stay up-to-date on the latest technology in this field. Excellent customer service skills are essential.

Appliance Service Technician Duties and Responsibilities

Proper use of all safety equipment (PPE), vehicle and diagnostic tools
Conducts technical diagnosis and performs specialized repairs on a variety of electronics and home appliances
Diagnose problems, assess the extent of the problem, document findings, make decisions to repair the product and/or replace parts
Immediately and accurately process paperwork and perform data entry upon completion of each job
Pre-screen next day service calls by obtaining necessary information to help diagnose problem prior to arriving at customer's home
Provide repair options, estimates, and timeframes to customers, taking into account any product warranties they have
Complete billing and invoicing paperwork
Communicate with Management/dispatchers for service calls completions, status, follow-ups.

Appliance Service Technician Requirements and Qualifications

1 year minimum experience repairing major appliances
High school diploma or GED certificate
Sufficient experience in and knowledge of appliance repair and installation (preferred, not required)
Postsecondary training from a trade or vocational school (preferred, not required)
Customer service and communication skills
National certification from the ISCET (a plus)
The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis, and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis without assistance and the physical ability to perform strenuous work under varied circumstances
Flexible and variable hours (no weekends)
Ability to drive within Austin, TX zip code area.
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:

Full time—Up to $30/hr — based on experience, compensation is open for discussion during interview process.
